Saint Joseph's Oratory |
We went to St Joseph Church in Montreal sometime in May 2016. To reach St Joseph's Oratory took about 2 hours driving from suburb of Ottawa to be arriving at this Catholic Basilica. Visiting Saint Joseph's Oratory in Montreal was a part of my pilgrim's journey.

The beautiful Basilica is dedicated to Saint Joseph. There were many miracles happened related to some kind of healing power in this Oratory. Those happened to many pilgrims (such as handicapped, blind, ill, etc.) including non-Catholic. I love the dome and architectural elements of this beautiful sanctuary. You can pray, refine religious beliefs, as well as admiring the scenic city's view of Montreal from the magnificent Dome of this Basilica. However, agree or not, Montreal's traffic is a bit confusing for us. Not only they use French language, but also the one way direction of the road as well as the name of the street. Even our GPS was confused!
Miracle happens in St Joseph Oratory
However, visiting Saint Joseph's Oratory was an amazing experience for me. Looking around the big Cathedral, and admiring the architectural of this beautiful Church took us about 1.5 hours. We went there not in Sunday. So, there was no Mass. You have to pay for the parking space. To reach the main door of the church needed more effort as the area is slopping. If you are not able to walk, you may be dropped at the front lobby by car. But no parking space near the lobby. When you stepped your foot at the Dome area, you can see the scenic view of Montreal. The Dome has a huge balcony area where people can take pictures. St. Joseph's Oratory has also a small "store" down nearby the lobby where you can buy some souvenirs such as Rosary and Holy Oil or Holy water. But those oil/water is not a medicated oil. It's related to your faith and beliefs.
