The Hot Air Balloon Festival in Gatineau is held every year. There are a lot of hot air balloons in different colors and shapes. The festival itself will be run at Parc La Baie, 988 rue St-Louis, Gatineau. If you have difficulties reaching the spot, there is a free shuttle service runs between Aylmer and Hull to Parc La Baie.
However, if you are afraid of height, you don't have to join the ride but still can enjoy the free "show." You can find high location/spot where you can see the flow of these beautiful balloon. The balloon will fly according to the wind direction.

Hot Air Balloon Festival:
You can book a ride in a hot air balloon for $219. Moreover, families can also bring their kids and join the amusement park. You can buy one-day wristband, e.i $27. Wristbands include all events, except for balloon rides and amusement park rides. The Admission is free for children under 10 years old.
The Balloon festival usually starts when the wind and weather is nice. Once when I watched the festival, the sky was a bit dark and was about to rain. The festival was delayed about 1 hour or so, waiting for the sun.
